Ubon Thai Restaurant

Indulge Your Senses

I was very happy with my visit to Ubon.  I had set up an appointment with the manager of Ubon Mr. Hassan to meet with him and discuss the nature of the Thai restaurant.  Upon my visit Mr. Hassan had reserved a table just for our meeting and provided me with a complimentary drink along with an original Thai dessert made out of coconut milk, rice, and mango.

Ubon restaurant is the only pure Thai restaurant in Kuwait. You might say that there are other Thai restaurants which you have been to in Kuwait and you are right about that, yet they are partially westernized compared to Ubon which is purely Thai Ubon provides original Thai food, whereas some of the meals that are in the menu require vegetables that are shipped all the way from Thailand.  “This is why we are different” he explained “it takes time and money to make sure that the ingredients are shipped.

Although Ubon restaurant is located in Kuwait city where it is hard to find spacious parking places, free valet parking is provided by the restaurant to their customers in order to facilitate their entrance.

I was fascinated by the decoration of the restaurant because despite its humble size the decoration makes it feel as if it is spacious and provides the intangible feeling of luxury.

The idea of serving pure Thai food, even if it is a main dish, appetizer or a simple drink it all has the essence to make you feel that you are dining in the land of peace and freedom, Thailand.

After the meeting Mr. Hassan provided me with his business card stating that they will soon be providing delivery and catering services as well.
I am very pleased to have had the opportunity to make this visit to Ubon, as it was very inspiring to me. From the amazing outdoor seating or the cozy indoor dining, or the delicious variety of dishes, I will definitely be visiting them again.

Noodle House

Taste the original Chinese food in Kuwait ...

I didn’t hear a lot about The Noodle House since it opened, I always wanted to give it a try but I’ve never had the chance until yesterday when we went there for lunch around 3:00pm. The Noodle House is located on the seafront next to Johnny Carino’s restaurant.

The place is cozy and nice, when we walked in I noticed that the restaurant is empty and we were the only customers in there, I’ve always linked emptiness of restaurants to poor food but I decided to take the risk this time. Surprisingly the food turned out to be fantastic and the staff was so friendly. I also noticed that there prices are so affordable, as for the 3 appetizers and 3 main courses we had we’ve paid only 19 K.D !

I hope that they open another branch in a shopping mall such as avenues or 360 mall.

Recommended Orders:

• Wasabi Prawns
Spicy Lemongrass Crab Cakes
Dan dan noodle soup with minced seafood

Meli Melo

NOT A SUSHI FAN ? TRY IT !

A place that is so cozy it feels likes home. Meli Malo is a Japanese restaurant located in Al Sha’ab alBahri. People who are not a fan of raw food or Japanese cuisine would really love and enjoy it, due to the Kuwaiti touch it implies to most of its dishes.  Most sushi ingredients are cooked such as shrimp, fish, meat and chicken, and the same thing goes with appetizers and main dishes. So eventually many would enjoy it either sushi lovers or haters. The dish that is a must for every person to order is ‘’Kuwaiti’’ maki, basically made of shrimp tempura, crab, avocado crispy toppings and executed with a sweet chilly sauce. I recommend it the most, as well as the typical Japanese dishes such as salmon avocado salad and other appetizers such as chicken skewers. The good thing is that they offer delivery and takeaway. Its better to give them a call for takeaways in order to have your food on time.
